2026 Beneficiary: Jeannessa’s Friends
Through fun and educational events, Jeannessa’s Friends aims to fund veterinary scholarships, grants for pet rescue organizations, and financial assistance to low-income families in need of emergency vet care. At its heart, Jeannessa’s Friends promotes best practices for the health and wellness of pets and their humans, including awareness and resources for pet owners facing domestic violence.
This year’s beneficiary is particularly personal, as Jeannessa is the daughter of Jeanna Lurie, who has been a member of the Willow Glen Holiday Trees committee since 2021. Jeannessa was working at Lincoln Avenue Pet Clinic, serving Willow Glen pets (maybe yours!), when she lost her life last year. Willow Glen Holiday Trees appreciates your kindness and generosity in supporting this very local charity with your donation.
Jeannessa’s Friends is a memorial foundation that honors and carries on the work of Jeannessa Lurie: a dog trainer, vet tech, pet foster, and all-around pet advocate, on her way to becoming a dog surgeon, when her life was tragically stolen by her roommate’s abuser in September 2025.
